Mediaone here in the Atlanta area *****. The support is terrible. Response to problems takes days. Of course to report a problem takes 1 to 2 hours on the phone. All of the links on the home page to any kind of support does not work. The forums do not work. All that has been said is that they are working on it. Well I deign web pages some of them including message boards. Usually when I am trying to get something to work, it takes a day at most, not months!! The speed is nowhere near advertised!!! On good days I am seeing about 150kbps. It is usually around 90Kbps and as low as 20kbps. This has been going on since the first of November. Before then I was bragging to everyone about how blinding fast it was. I was seeing an average of 500Kbps speed. I have called and opened many tickets about this but nothing is ever done. The techs that come out say that everyone is having this problem but of course the help desk tell me that I have an isolated problem. They will not listen that before the modem was changed back in November the speed was fine. Maybe the modem is a coincidence or maybe MediaOne has underestimated their bandwidth needs out onto the net. Sorry for rambeling but no one at Media one will listen. When DSL becomes available in my area, they will not have to listen to me any more.

Tatches,
The phone support if thats what they call it is world famous for being poor! The Central Fl. users get the canned response of"It is a problem outside the media one network" Yeah right!
Sounds like they also oversold your area.
I too am used to the 150Kbps speed and am now seeing a steady 90-100Kbps. I checked my IP pool and found a min. of 150 machines out there(not counting people like me who run firewalls and won't show)I now know why my speed *****! Have you tried the online tech support that seems to work better
The AOL TWC merger hasn't helpped yet.Smile things will only get worse...LOL
Uh depending on where in Atlanta you are Mindspring has DSL available. You will only hear good about Mindspring from myself and Tony. Check out MindspringMAX
Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I have tried the onlinehelp but none of the online links work. It is most irritating that I can't get through except for the phone which takes too long. Believe me, if DSL was available I would have already ordered it. I have a Mindspring dial account and I can only say good things about them. I did get the CEO's mailing address today and am writing a letter to her, not that it will do any good but may make me feel better.

Tatches,
Your welcome!
i to carry a mindspring dial up just incase
the cost is killing me but Mindspring has a better newsfeed so its worth it.
It's a shame people have to carry local dialups and/or commercial newsfeed to make up for Roadrunners problems.
I'm a NON-TWC cust. so I spend $50 for RR and it's really getting to the point of going dial up again.
Speed is nice but...
Cheers,
