Test 5.45c
This is a test of update to version 5.45c.
Had this been an actually emergency (or forums crash) you would have been instructed on where to go and what to do with the guy who screwed it all up.

I haven't got a clue. There was nothing on the UBB site that said what it did. At least not that I noticed. However, I managed to update it. I almost screwed it up when I realized the control panel wouldn't work. But I figured it out. I'm gonna go back to the UBB site and see if I can find out what the change/addition was.

Even though it only went from 4.41a to 5.45c, the list was pretty long. In a nutshell, it's security fixes, bug fixes, and script that had adverse effects with Netscape. Supposed to be fixed. Didn't read a thing on any enhancements or new features.

Thanks dude.
I never got this far into working on a server before. I learned a lot quickly. However the control panel was easy enough considering back in the day, I used to run a BBS on a commodore 64. Obviously not the same as this but it gave me an understanding of what to do and not do.
I did make one minor booboo. When I updated the cgi-bin url in the new cplinks.html file, I didn't put in /Ultimate/. Every thing worked but the control panel. I actually accessed the old one that I backed up onto my computer to re-update all the threads after I made the proper change and reuploaded the fixed version. Then all was well with minimal downtime.
This stuff is a snap. Now it's back to finishing up a new video clip.

I've learned about the web/internet/computers the hard way. By making many mistakes. I've become a bit paranoid when making any changes to the website, even minor ones. Earlier, I would get a little bored with routine tasks and would sort of mindlessly make changes or update pages. Often the results were disastrous!
Now I make a check list, which I follow religiously, before embarking on any kind of task. Guess that is why pilots, regardless of their experience, still have a written check list they refer to prior to every flight.
Good job Scott. Thanks.

I think Scott really deserves some class-A appreciation for the work that he is doing, and what Tony has done to start this entire set of forums up and maintain them. It is truly a thankless job that no too many understand what it takes to keep things running smoothly, and when things get crazy those guys get things under control again real fast.
Youse guys are truly good shepherds.
