pop-ups

I tried a free trial of popup killer. After it killed thirty pop-ups you must pay to continue.

Now at startup I get this annoying window trying to get me to buy the program, which I must close before I can continue.

1] Is there a way to eliminate this annoying window at startup?

2] Is there a free popup killer program that really works, that can be downloaded?

I have that program Van and don't get those messages. I get on a couple sites where pop-ups are a problem, but don't seem to have the problem you are having with those nasty pop-up ads.

How long have you had the program? I've had mine installed for a couple months now.

I up graded my fire wall to zone alarm pro .Yes there is a nominal cost involve

It provides an effective add and cookie blocking function.

I only used it for the 30 po-ups trial period. Now,of course every time I start the PC I get this annoying notice asking me to sign up and buy the program. How do I eliminate this notice from my start up?

Van, Not sure what operating system your using but try this.

click
start,settings,taskbar & startmenu,
click the tab,start menu programs.
click remove button.
all programs will be displayed.
click plus minus box next to the program you want to remove.
all files associated with the program will be displayed.
to remove the ones you want highlight them and then click remove.

not sure if you need to restart ot not ,the system will tell you.

hope this does it.

I'm not very computer literate so you might want to double checkwith Tony, Scott, Arnie or Allen

Do what Laird said and blow the application away.

I use the Opera browser for most of my web surfing. It works well for most things, but does tend to fail with Java apps written specifically for internet explorer. It has an option to surpress pop ups and it works well. You also don't need to worry about dirty rotten Active X scripts.

Gordi Breyette was good enough to send me a pop-up stopper program [free] that I installed and found it very effective.
