Okay Ladies!!! Let's kick start this board with some discussion!!

What techiniques do you use for self defense? What are your favorites and what is most effective?

Good idea --

Here's what I do.

I walk with good posture, keep my eyes up and clear and walk with intent and determination.

I do not reply to off-hand/off-color comments made by men who walk by me. I cross the street if I'm nervous about who's coming my way. I look under my car in a parking lot before I'm near it and I always walk with my keys in my hand and I carry a cell phone in my coat pocket.

I have pre-made choices about what I'm willing to say to a complete stranger to get them to back away. I imagine telling people off in my head and use words my mother would be ashamed of.

I've never been attacked & never had to use my hands to defend myself. So far, strong body language has been my best defense technique.

I would highly recommend some scenario based training. I've had exposure to Bill Kipp's FAST (Fear Adrenaline Stress Training) Defense and it is an excellent program.
