Outrage above rage

Post by nick »

Here, Here!!

Noone should have to worry about their personal safety or that of their loved ones, out walking, relaxing at a cafe or at home.

And anyone that crosses that line, deserves the outrage. Image

Outrage above rage

Post by LeeDarrow »

Well put, Dana-Sensei!

Outrage is not the blinding emotion that rage is. Outrage has the moral component that rage lacks. Rage blinds us with hatred and raw emotionality and often seems like a knee-jerk reaction.

Outrage has an intellectual component that, IMHO, allows the rational part of the self to keep the control needed so that one does not fight blindly - as in a "blind rage."

I hope this makes sense - you hit a real chord with me and it was difficult to put into words...

Respectfully,

Outrage above rage

Outrage is what I feel when I imagine getting attacked. It's not rage becuase it is more than violent anger.

My outrange fuels my mindset that no person can take safety, health, or loved ones from me without opposition.

If I was just "rageful" I might fight blindly, without purpose. But with "outrage" I can fight, not only from anger, but also with principle.

Perhaps that's what's meant by "focus" of intent. Not just that you know what you're hitting, but you know why you're hitting.
