I am a changing woman,
Standing in closed gate.
Realizing that as I create anew,
Something elemental within me must die.
I am a changing woman,
Disengaging from the expectations of others,
I surrender, release and let go
Only to uncover a more authentic sense of self.
I am a changing woman,
Fluid, formless ... in "no-mind"
Herein lies the seeds to my future
As an energy beckons me to a new horizon.
I am a changing woman,
Running fire as the kata within
Is birthed by water that is held by earth
As the sky dances above me.
I am changing woman ...
At each end there is a new beginning.

Jackie,
That could be any one of us, male or female. May we feel it with a fervent belief after lifetimes of practice.
Yes, as you so apt to say, "In beauty."

" One is not born , but rather becomes a woman " { Simone De Beauvoir]

Thank you, all, for your comments. As I've often said, there is something about kata and karate that stirs my soul. I may be a dreamer, but I am not dreamy when it comes to training. I whole-heartedly endorse reality-based experiences, but feel there must be a place to allow the expression of your spirit to emerge. Kata enables me to open my mind, heart and being to receive the downward flow of Spirit ...
I often experience an awakening of all senses, a release of energy and a joyfulness that can not be explained or communicated by words. It's all in the "doing."
In beauty, Jackie
