I am looking for a dojo or teacher in the Florence, SC area, or within an hour or so drive of me. I have studied in the past and I am wanting to start again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doctor X,
2 hours, is a little far right now if it is during the week. I usually work up until dark so during the week that makes it pretty tough.

ChanFan, leave me the information about the teacher in lancaster, and I might be able to work something out.

Yeah. Speaking of working in the dark...I don't have a computer at home, which is why I'm so slow to respond sometimes.

Anyway, you can call 1-888-257-3142 or send an email to info@uks1.com for info. I train in the Universal system and the schools are not Uechi-ryu, but the program may suit you nonetheless.

I don't know the owner that well; he's usually in Lancaster and I train in Waxhaw, NC. But I have taken instruction from him in the past and he is a most excellent teacher. (A bit of a philosopher, too. Image)

You can get an overview of the program here, but you really have to talk to Kyoshi to get a sense of training at UKS.

About 30 miles Southeast of Charlotte or right about here. Hwy 16 is Providence Rd. in Charlotte, and runs out just on the other side of the tracks. My Dojo is located just to the left and slightly above the topmost point of the little star. Image
