* Apparently it's OK for a 72-year-old to assault someone, but not OK for a man to defend himself (gently and deftly I might add... Nice move). Note how the New York media will show Pedro throwing Zimmer down by the head, but not show the old man lunging at him with a left hook.
In any case, classy of Zimmer to apologize. Apparently the young ones don't understand that...
* Apparently it's fashionable to call Pedro a head hunter in the New York media, even though Clemons leads Pedro SUBSTANTIALLY in batters hit. (From the quote I heard on TV, it was almost 50% more).
* Apparently it's OK for Clemons to throw a ball "over the plate" at Ramirez's head; his head was leaning over the plate. Never mind the fact that it is legal to lean forward like that, and the high pitch was not in the strike zone.
Sure, Roger... Brilliant move.
Whatever did I do?? We'll have to remember that one!
* Apparently it's OK for professional athletes to gang-assault a groundskeeper for Boston because he was waving a towel in the dugout, cheering his Bosox on.

Note the police pulling Karim "the Kon" Garcia off of the poor groundskeeper. And just what were you doing in the bullpen, there, Karim? Oh, and sorry you hurt your hand.
And the reason for the gang assault? "Boston created an atmosphere of lawlessness!"
The devil made me do it!

I'm waiting for Boston's finest to press charges. Meanwhile, can you believe the Yankee organization had the gall to demand an apology?
Morals of the story...
1) If you're an athlete, it doesn't mean you know how to fight.
2) Shut up, apologize, and move on.
3) Pedro needs to channel his emotions. To heck with the theatrics; kick their butts on the ball field. Best way to shut their mouths.
4) You're always going to be the bad guy when dealing with New Yorkers. They own the media.
