The Washington Karate Academy held a Dan test on Saturday December, 13th 2003.

The Candidates for Sandan were:

David Fisher
Heather Lipin
Dana Sheets
Armando Saavada
Dan Speck

The Candidate for Shodan was:
Mike Meier

I'm happy to report that all candidates passed!

Long time no talk! Congratulations to both you and Heather (and the rest of your crew). Please also say hi to Bob K. for me.

If you recorded the test and plan on dumping it to DVD at some point, please post me a copy; I'd very much like to see how you both have evolved your Nakamatsu-influenced hip power since we last saw you in Atlanta!

We do have a tape of the test - though the audio is no good. As soon as the system is back up and running at the office I should be able to make a something to send along.

Hi Jackie and Van,

I just realized I hadn't replied. Thanks to you both for your kind words. And Jackie - congrats again on your next step to yondan.

And yes - Heather is still smiling away. She's covering another acupuncturist's practice who when off to India to study in an ashram. Can you imagine?

I can also attest to the fact that acupuncturists make great martial artists. She has a keen ability to strike those little points without even thinking about it. YEOUCH! Sparring with Heather is no easy task!
