I have no idea why I feel the need to share this story maybe except to show an example of how big talk is cheap and how some people who act real hard with the lips can be so soft in reality..One night my buddy Chad and I were outside his girlfriends apartment with a few friends and a few sweet girls we knew..To make a long story short we were talking not to loud and I feel respectful towards sorrounding tenants who occupied other apartments close to the campus where we were at..Anyway some goon must have seen some of the nice looking girls we were in the company of and decided as usual to come outside with his buddy and make a little noise to show off how tough they were..He yelled over at us to shut up and that we were to loud and decided to take a walk over and put on one hell of an up in your face screaming show directed at my buddy chad who was no slouch when it came to streetfighting and a pretty darn good wrestler also..So anyway my friend chad listened to the guy for about a second or two before he rared back and splattered this big mouth idiots nose all over his ugly face and I have to admit the way it went down was legendary and so so very funny cause mr. bigs stood there with his hands over his face crying like a big old new born baby..He was a loud one alright but his bleeding and crying was much more patient respectful and considerate towards others who weren't bothering him at all in the first place..So chalk up one for the good guys and I'm not really surprised I'm not hercules or anything by a long shot but most big talkers I've seen usually piss a quiet good natured killer off sometime and get fed their attitude plus a heaping serving of desert also..So what can I say but I really love that ##### ...
Good day ya'll
If you hear some talkin most times that all it is..
Kind of like a non poisonous snake that tries to fake you out with those bright colors it can't harm a thing but boy does it want you to think it can hehe ...
I for one missed that clue. In person it is easiar to recognize the persons state and responses can be adjusted, reading it alone on our monitors we react to the content and can get emotionally high jacked (Van`s term I think). The internet is still a very new form of exchaging information and we are part of those pioneering, learn and move forward. Personally I dought his feelings are damaged (am I right Mills75?) and your post certainly was not ignored or without content worth exploring on different levels.I have no idea why I feel the need to share this story

I have little experience with "trolls", but Mills did not flame or insult anyone here, just presented an encounter story and crowed about it...as I said , this tone may have raised the hackles of more mature martial artists.
But there's no intent in that.
Even if the story was entirely made up; it is a very real scenario and provided us with some very useful analysis, so some good came out of it.
We're thinking, discussing, quarterbacking; our domain is self defense/ MA so I think the story is fair game.
A new poster may have been seeking positive reinforcement from us, which he may have gotten elsewhere, have you seen some of those MA sites?!
It takes a while to "get the tone" of this site, and quite frankly I think the maturity of it takes some by surprise.
I experienced this in racing, where some kid would come up and enthuse:" Hey mister, how fast, pedal to the metal?!" as if that were the be-all and end-all. But to him, it was. We who studied the art of racing could hardly tell him that most passing is done under BRAKING...
So what I'm saying is that the "MA forum mentality" out there might be several bars below what we're accustomed to here, and so I could see a person honestly posting a "victory story" thinking we would all appreciate it and slap him on the back with a "way to go, warrior!"
Just remember, he did not flame or insult anyone, and provided a very good scenario for us to discuss.

When I read the one you listed I felt pretty bad, since I obviously misread his post about Chad.
I'm still learning how to communicate via words, to people I've never met. Guess I'll be making a few mistakes.
If Mills is reading this, please accept my apology for jumping to a conclusion..... I'll "fix" the original thread to reflect this new information.
