Extended plyometric sessions should be done on mats - as you suggested. And yes, these sessions can be brutal.

Due to my total lack of a lateral meniscus in the right knee (thanks to a hack job by a UVa orthopod in 1974), I need to pick and choose these plyometric sessions very carefully. The knee w/o its natural shock absorber isn't very forgiving when you shock it a lot. And I want to avoid the joint replacement if at all possible. So far so good...

If anything, my shortcomings have made me redouble my efforts on proper technique. There's always a way to turn lemons into lemonade if you seek to do so.

Ugh! What just happened? The core synergistics tape was a killer workout. Morphine! Now I'm going to have to master that one, too, i guess...
