yeah for Kerry!!!!
Kerry,
That's just awesome news! See, most people will back down from a bad position when you put up a little fight.
I'm very happy for you. I strongly urge you to take Bill's offer. Being a product of public education in Indiana (at time when we were 48th in the country) my detailed knowledge of the proper use of the English language isn't very detailed. Or I'd offer to proofread as well. But if they're gonig to reprint - tell them you've found even more errors (that, of course, must be their fault) and you want to include those in your revision.
But again, my hat's off to you!

Mr. G Sensei-
I would very much like to take you up on your offer- if you have the time....
Let me see what they come back with- I'm being very careful with them at this point- but either way- whether it is more copies through them- or I get a new larger publisher- I'd love to list you as the editor! Goodness knows I can't trtust myself in these matters! LOL
I have a manuscript form- that I've gone through and hilighted some of the things I found wrong- would you like something like that- or rather something through the email? It might even be able to been done on the disk I had them send after they screwed the first printing up so badly- maybe I could send you that- if you think the program would be compatible-
But I will let you know- this may be a ploy to say- something like- ok we'll fix it but you have to pay us more- ya never know- I've had several agents contact me- saying "hey we love your book- and for this amount of money- we'll find a publisher for you" yeah- uh-huh- thanks but no. LOL If an agent really thought they could find me a publisher- they go for the commision. Which is how most reputable agents work.
Thank you for the congrats- everyone. It isn't over yet- but even just this little victory is nice.

Apparently we have no shortage of help available. Mary S also offered. With her professional background (paralegal work), she's probably even better qualified than I. E-mail me and we can sort this out.
In any case, I think digital copy is always the easiest. Send me a note and we'll all negotiate the process.

Kerry,
CONGRATS!
BTW, count me in for volunteers for proofreading. I don't have much time, but I can probably make a little if it would help you out. I do technical writing as part of my job, so I know a little bit about editing and such. And I've been told that I write very well. Considering I'm an Engineer, I guess I write ok!

Kerry, unfortunately, I have not read the story but it would be my pleasure to help out in any way I can.
I have an B.A. with an English/History major and also a B.Ed. with English major and there may be those out there more qualified to do the job, but I constantly find myself editing and proofing documents at my law firm so if I can assist you, I would be delighted to lend a hand.

Kerry,
Just a little update. As I e-mailed you. I finally got to start reading your book to my son. He's really getting into it. The PROBLEM is that he won't let me put it down. Guess the 7 year old reviews will be very good.
Anyway, thought you might like the update, and I'll let you know the final review after we're done.

Kerry,
Towards the end of the book one of the characters said something *****.
This seems a little out of place. I would change it to stinks.
This is tame to some kids, but I found myself changing it while reading it to mine.
I meant to tell you before, but forgot.
As you know just trying to help.

Bill,
I was trying to remember in all the books I read with my kids. Especially the Harry Potter ones, if they used anything words like that.
I figure since that is the audience to keep a "g" rating, it might not be good.
I just censor my kids material, I'm a total anarchist at heart!
Please don't compare me to Tipper Gore in the 80's with backwards messages on rock albums
.
Horror!

Hi all:
I will be making another submission to a new publishing company. Earlier you all mentioned being willing to write letters of reccomendation for me.... Are you still up for it? I haven't heard from anyone regarding the first new company or the re-print so I thought for now I'd make a couple more submissions for publication for now.
If you are up for it still, please let me know, and send any possible letters to:
Kerry Morgan
101 School Street
Bristol, NH 03222
Thanks again everyone!

Wonderful!
Thank you!
I'm glad Chad enjoyed it! You know, his own letter of what he thought, and any other children whom have read the story- (Mr. Faigle??) might be a great addition to my submission pachage too! The story IS targeted to the younger ones! I'm sure their opinion would greatly count too!
Thanks again!
