I'm not totally sure, but I don't think "original sin" is really in the Bible as such. There's just a passage here or there that seems to reference the concept, such as Romans 5:12 (i.e., not Genesis)

Paul mentions original sin in Romans to downplay the need for Judaic rituals, as he tried to separate the Christians from the need to follow Jewish law. This made it more appealing to gentiles as the religion spread.
