I believe Zone Alarm Pro will intercept this worm and others before it ever hits your mail program.
I think Pro is 35 bux. I'm thinking about buying it.

Sure about the interception ? So if you buy that Norton is not needed?

Van,
No, you would need your virus scanner also. It looks like the "mail-safe" plugin watches for mail attachments.

I'd have to look into it. It seems that is the only major difference between the freeware version and the commercial.
Check out the sidebar though, it says Zonealarm guards against spyware.
hmm...

Norton Kills everything upon demand. When it detects something, it displays a dialogue box requesting the user to make a decision on several choices contained inside a combo box, If you click the little arrow at the right edge of the choice displayed, it will bring down the dialogue box exposing additional choices.
I did the unthinkable, I installed Zone Alarm with Norton still installed. It actually was Norton that caught the worm.
I'd leave Norton in there as the silent member of the invasion repulsion team, Van, because sooner or later one of those "things" will get through one of the defenses and raise holy hell with your system.
Why buy the pro version? Isn't it ZoneAlarm's pro version which will test all 65,536 ports as opposed to the free version which tests only several popular ones, Tony?

Here's a good one, I put ZoneAlarm in a mode to protect my email. Now I can't access it because Norton is in there although Eudora is allowed to pass the lock. Too much of a good thing, right?

I didn't even realize I had Mail-Safe much less enabled.

You can spend your entire life finding out what's out there, Tony. I'd rather exhaust myself this weekend doing Sanchin and hugging my favorite squeeze.
