And I thought Stan was a buff bitch ...... Eh Randy
Geez Marcus, Laird is the one that wants to see him in tights. That is enough to scare anyone from wanting to see his kata. 8O As for posting mine, since I cannot speak for the rest of the students, the answer would be simply and respectfully no.

First, I am terribly shy and have the utmost respect for the folks that have shared theirs. I enjoy watching the clips but would never have the balls to do that myself. Hell, I hate even doing kate before a test board!

Btw, it was a real pleasure to finally meet you and Laird on Wednesday. I was impressed by the spirit, talent and open-mindedness that you both brought to the class. Thank you for taking the time to explain the Shotokan punch in detail. I always like seeing what other styles have to offer and the principles behind them.

I look forward to working with you guys again. Just as long as Laird keeps the sharp pointy things away from me. 8O

Yeah, Marcus doesn’t mention how in awe we were of his beautiful high roundhouse kicks.

We old fat guys have to knock people to the ground to kick them in the head…but hey it works.

Randy no worries the scimitar is not intended for you my friend….you are confused however…it was the Kiwi who first fancied The Buff Bitch in tights. I told you about it.

I was surprised however; I thought his fantasies would involve wool chaps.

Who would have guessed he liked men in tights. The British influence I guess.

Marcus you wish to borrow Brittany’s Robin Hood hat.. OSU??
Yeah, Marcus doesn’t mention how in awe we were of his beautiful high roundhouse kicks.
He is an excellent kicker! I tried to show the dojo how to jam a back kick the other day. Big mistake, Marcus has no rotation in his back kick…I ate it! He also throws a sneaky side kick from way to close and lands it at will….I’m still trying to figure out how he does it. A very different paradigm.

Hey I like the Buddha Belly method too!

It was good to play with the fine folks at WKS again, we had a blast!

As I understand it the odds of you testing again are pretty much in the past.Might be a good test to post your work for Marcus to judgement on.

You did not strike me as insecure ......

This comes from Laird’s site ( http://banffuechiryu.tripod.com/index.html ) and I thought it was an excellent comment for this thread:

“Kata is an exploration of martial principles. It's study never ends, these clips are personal interpretations of the Uechi-Ryu Kata. Think of these clips as a snap shot in time of the performer’s interpretation. They undoubtedly have moved on since these clips were shot and are expressing the kata differently as their mindset and understanding grows. Kata is a personal exploration of martial movements, don't get to focussed on the template.”

Excellent points!

Still have that offer open for posting clips on my site. (Very excited, Dana’s are in the mail!)

Well Dana's Sanchin Kata are loaded!

Please note that Dana does two versions of Sanchin.

The first one is an exaggerated body mechanic Sanchin to teach the mechanics through big movements.

The second version performed is the scaled down version with the same mechanics only subtler.

Two size files One 27 MB and pretty clear

http://www.wilsonkarate.com/videos/dana_sanchin.mpg

and

one 4 MB with less sharpness in the colour.

I am very impressed with her Sanchin and the mechanics involved. Clearly there is a sinking and coiling into the rear leg and an explosive expansion into the strike.
