Solo conditioning exercises

Post by jsykes »

I have found gaps in time at work where I sit and wait for work to come. I am very new to Uechi, so do not know of any exercises that are good for conditioning. I am looking to condition my arms, legs, hands and feet. Any solo exercises would be greatly appreciated!!! :D

Boy, we could go on and on on this one. Good question. Let the list begin.

A rolling pin - for rolling the boney areas of the body (like the shins).

Squeeze devices of various sorts, found in rock climbing gyms and stores.

The Dyna-Flex Power Ball (or some other permutation thereof), which can be purchased on this site.

How about these:
1: Stand in Sanchin. Just quickly, momentarily. Then relax.

2: Pratice pelvic tuck. Almost invisible, very valuable.

3: Practice breathing without raising shoulders. Make it a habit.

4: Stare straight ahead...practice awareness of field of peripheral vision.
Try this walking through a mall.

5: Practice forming hands into nukite, shoken, seiken.

6: Evaluate surrounding persons / environment for an eruption of violence requiring defense/intervention. Maybe this can be practiced later in your development, but should start sometime.
