Surgery

Post by KerryM »

:)

Hi-

Just had a tubal ligation- and I must say that keeping my torso area espescially when walking- kept in "Sanchin" really helped me durring recovery- which has been pretty easy.

*funny note*- the surgery prevents pregnancy- yet right afterwards- you feel "quite like when you did pregnant" i.e. favoring the tummy area a bit- being aware of it... so there I was healing from a "prevenative" thing, and thinking about how similar it felt to being 7 to 8 months pregnant. :) (at which time I was practicing too- Uechi is quite body friendly- even through conditioning-)

Just a note- :)

Hi Kerry,

Good to hear from you again. How's your book going?

You bring up some interesting ideas. We've got a few extra organs in the belly area to think about. Even more of a reason to develop good mucles control for the torso. Notice I said torso and not just stomach? Abs, lats, obliques - these three groups together form much of the "shield" we make around our internal organs for sanchin.

And when it comes to internal organs - women have plenty.

I hope you continue to heal well.

I still sell the original text/book and people are still really getting a lot out of the story. Thank you for asking. No publishers have taken it for re-print though. I've been thinking about creating a story book type story out of it with tons of pictures to see how that goes with the publishers out there. Still trying at any rate- and the second I'm still working on. :)

I understand about the shield thing- espescially when the stomake- torso area is "checked" per se- I've noticed a much better response from myself :) LOL I'd like to develope a much stronger "shield". :)

It has been an interesting healing process and one full of learning- :) It's amazing what this art can do :)
