Uechi-ryu (or similar) Dojos in South Africa

Post by Bruce Hirabayashi »

Since this post generated exactly 0 responses  since it was posted Nov 5 on the "Locate a Dojo or Teacher" forum, I thought I'd give it a try on the Bill's Dojo Roundtable:

******************************

Dear Colleagues:

I will be making a 10-day trip to South Africa (Johannesburg and Capetown) in April 2004 as part of a graduate school program.

It would be nice to be able to do some Uechi-ryu training in the evenings after classes / lectures. Unfortunately, a few hours searching the Internet for Uechi-ryu dojos in South Africa has (so far) turned up nothing.

Do any you readers have personal knowledge of a Uechi-ryu dojo and/or practioner in South Africa? If there is no Uechi-ryu, I imagine another classical Okinawan style would work as well.

If so, I would appreciate if you post the information to this thread so I might get in touch with the practioner / dojo.

Thanks for your help!
