Hyprocracy of the progressive movement toward republicans

Post by AAAhmed46 »

Looks, im no fan of bush.

But there is selective outrage in the progressive community.

When bush went into Iraq, there was gross outrage in the progressive community.

But Clinton put sanctions on Iraq which killed and made life miserable for many Iraqis(while Saddam continued living like a king) atleast with an invasion saddam lost power, which sanctions, he still lived the good life while others died.

But people were silent when Clinton did it.

If Obama pulls something similar, fact is that progressives will probably more or less make minimal protests. seems when the democrats do something retarded, progressives ignore it.

When it's the republicans, alot of noise is made.

Hold the democrats to the same standards you hold the republicans.

Where is the outrage over the trade embargo with Cuba, Adam, or Iran, or Myanmar or North Korea?

And please remember that Obama was elected partly on a platform of actually talking with these pariah states. He got a lot of crap from his Republican opposition - including here.

Cheers,
Gene

Just right now, im coming down hard a bit on Obama, to balance out my anti-bush stance.

For all we know, he could be the best president ever.

Though it is true, Dems would do things and the left would ignore it, then the right makes noise. For usually the same things the left gives the republicans schit for.

So yes, i see how it balances out. But why does it have to be balanced with those opposite in the spectrum?

I mean schit, the dems arn't exactly left wing either, the only 'true' liberal in the dems is what? Dennis kusinich(yes i know spelling)

But really, party allegiance is pretty lame.

I'm still in shock no one's protesting Arkansas' most recently passed initiative...

As for hypocracy, yeah, there's no shortage on both sides... but now it's the Right's turn to be apoplectic about it.

Yeah there is plenty to go around....which is both sad and scary.

When Clinton launched his attacks/invasion/bombings etc he did so without UN approval and against an enemy that was no direct threat to the USA...they had not even threatened the USA.....but like you suggested......different standards for different folks.....and those standards change depending on whom your talking to and about....on both sides of the political isle.
Forget #6, you are now serving nonsense.
