Uechi-ryu Hall of Fame
I sporadically see some teachers as belonging to the "Uechi-ryu Hall of Fame" on various web sites.
Is there such a thing? If so what are the details on it? (who runs it, qualifications, website, etc.) Just curious. Thanks.

I was never inducted, Dale. I guess I'm just a nobody.
But seriously... There was such a designation, started circa 1983. I believe George started it. Members got nifty blazers, and got their pictures taken.
I have no idea if they're still inducting members into this HOF. No matter. The masters titles (renshi, kyoshi, hanshi, hanshi sei) are in my book more significant - particularly since now they're only given to those who make a specific and documented contribution to the style.
Meanwhile, all past inductees should be proud of their designations.

Ooooh....character assassination. That must be a guy thing. I see my husband's men's group do the same thing, just for fun.
We wouldn't presume to assume the official Uechi diaper as our NHOF attire.chef wrote:
Outfits? How about a sumo diaper, hah!

That would be a sacrilege!
I don't qualify. My wife says I have no shame...f.Channell wrote:

Not in the picture or the list in the book.
Not to say they are not important pioneers in our art, they are just not listed.
If there is another listing, perhaps Sensei Mattson has it.
