Interesting video regarding a test I would not like to take.

My concern: If someone would say or do anything to stop the Waterboarding "inquiry", how do you determine truth from fiction?

"Do or do not. there is no try!"
"Do or do not. there is no try!"
Here is an annoying individual getting water boarded.

I wonder though, just how much waterboarding can a trained soldier get?
Because Hitchens is an academic(not known for badassery) and the lab rat guy is a reporter isn't he?
What about a soldier? Can they take it for fifteen seconds?
Would a terrorist powered by insanity be able to take it?

Hence the reason not to trust information garnered from waterboarding or other extreme forms of coercion.gmattson wrote:

I'm thinking that there is a method to the madness. For instance you could start by asking questions that you know the answer to. If they lie to you, they don't get relief. Eventually you start asking questions you don't know the answer to when you feel like you have them singing like a canary.

It's worth mentioning that some train to take this kind of treatment.
Ever used a Netti pot?

If you haven't done a lot of diving or otherwise haven't frequently had water blasted up your sinuses, then this is a treatment you might not like. Being head down and having water go in the sinuses is painful - until you get used to it. Then it isn't such a big deal. If you're like me and love a good wasabi blast, it's kind of refreshing.

Part of what makes these two weasel out so quickly is that they have no tolerance whatsoever for water going up the sinuses. That's the very first thing experienced. After that, then it's a matter of waiting for a time to breathe.
Sanchin "dolphin breathing" would work well here. You could probably train yourself to take this for some time. Nobody says it's going to be pleasant. Shin pounding was something I hated for years. But after a while, no big deal.
