Allen:
I downloaded Opera about 2 years ago. For some reason, I found it very limiting, although I've forgotten why.
Why do you like it? What limitations does it have? What does IE have that Opera doesn't have? Sorry for all the questions, but before I install it again, I'd like to get an expert opinion.
Thanks in advance,
George

This is not your mother's Opera, George.
I can answer most of your questions with just one word: =FAST= !
Opera also doesn't lock up on rogue [or even friendly ones as Navigator-the-Alligator V6 does] java scripts, and iOpera is user friendly with a nice clean layout. It takes a little getting used to because it is different, but I was downloading apps this morning as fast as can be, and webpages would come up faster than I could blink.
There's a lot of things I haven't done with it yet, because I just downloaded it at work this morning after reading about the raves.
Two years for a browser is like another lifetime. Wasn't it two years ago that everyone was swearing by Netscape? And now, look at 'em. IE5 is the browser to die for. Just like opening a can of catfood.
If this Opera hoses your system then you've got something wrong with your computer.
You wouldn't happen to have a copy of IE2 laying around, would you? When I bring up either of my domains with IE2, I get an entirely different website, some travel agency.

IE2? Can't remember ever using that version. I was into Netscape back then.
Think I will give Opera a shot. Thanks for the review.

For others who may be interested, the Opera sings at
http://www.opera.com/
All that is needed to make Opera complete is to see if it will take skins.

Just downloaded Opera 4 with Java. I'll let you all know how I like it.
Wouldn't it be great to have an alternative to IE???

Nothing wrong with IE, that is the standard. I have already noticed Opera exibits a different behavior than IE with some CSS scripts.
