Hey everyone~ i am new to this forum and have been in the martial arts about 3 years. I was looking at this forum and was interested in your topics and quick responses! yes, i am only 15, but i open to all information on the martial arts!

My main objective for writing this was to find out the different styles and years of martial arts experience and rank if you want to. Thanks for creating such a great sight - sjr

Hello sunsu8,

Welcome.

I'm a 2nd degree black belt in Uechi-Ryu and have trained that style for about 5 years.

Before that I trained judo for about 3 and 1/2 years.

Before that my brother used to study "Sibling-Rivalry-Ryu" together.

Hi! I've been training since '98 in Uechi-Ryu,now a Green belt, (my Sensei's a "slow-roaster") and love these forums: lots of good info. People here take their MA pretty seriously, but all have good humour and the advice is awesome!

thank you both for the replies! I appreciate that. you both have made me feel welcome! Image

dana,Sensei you seem to have a lot of training time in and that is cool! one of my friends in the MA works with Isshinryu, Jodu, JJ, and neko-ryu. He is a very nice man (as long as you don't mak him mad.. lol)

thanks to you too! i understand the slow-roaster thing! my SENSEI at one time was like that! thanks to both of you again - SJR

Good Morning SJR,

Looks like we're both online. So when you train, are you training in an "adults" class?

I didn't have the courage to try martial arts when I was a teenager. I wish I had. So I admire you not only for training, but also posting on these forums.

cheers,
Dana

Hi Sunsu8! Welcome!

I have a 2nd degree black in Uechi-ryu and I have been training in this style for 6 years. Before that I studied Shiito-ryu (extra i to avoid censure), Shotokan and Aikido. I studied Shotokan and Aikido while I was in Japan for my Junior year. As a new aikido student I was used primarily as uke for the 6 months I trained. I started getting the most incredible quad muscles and I could not figure out why until I realized it was from getting up off the mat time and time again after being thrown. Image

Hi Sunsu8...welcome to the forum!!

I have been training for about 6 years in Shorin-ryu and Ryukyu Kempo. I am Nidan.

This group here is really good about answering questions and not going off on a tangient becuase they disagree with your ideas.
