Beautiful, crisp, powerful movements.

Made me relive the days of Moto Yamakura and Taro Tanaka's visit to GEM-sensei's Dojo on Hancock St, Boston.

To appreciate the power and grace of these forms, one must be present as I was then watching Moto and Taro's performance.

And this style produces fierce fighters. Thanks for the trip to memory lane. Image

I see that you are an 'old-hand' in karate-do if you can remember Yamakura Shihan, perhaps you can remember my sensei too, YOKI Yukiaki, Mattson Shihan said Yoki was the first Japanese Seigokan visitor to Boston dojo. Here is Yoki sensei's posting in the Consumer Corner Forum:

>>Dear Karate-Do Friends,
I would like to introduce my e-book "Yoki's Karate Errantry in America" that tells of the experiences that I had during my visit to America in 1964. I plan on following up with "Karate-Do Instructor in Hong Kong" sometime this summer.

Please visit my Web Site at: http://members.tripod.co.jp/yoki_trp/index-1.html

My E-mail address is:
yid2001@isis.ocn.ne.jp

Thank you for your attention.

Best Regards,

Yukiaki Yoki

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the link. Of course I remember Yoki. A fine budoka and a friend, we all loved him. Jim Elliot took him under his wing and offered him a place to stay at his apartment.

What a nice guy. I will email him. Thanks again.

I was wondering why the alphabets after JKF.... and ...eigata were missing. Then it suddenly occurs to me that the computer thought it was a four-letter-word. Well, anyway, guess you all know what I originally meant. Image

Bill

I am an Okinawan Goju practitioner in my past, and I deeply appreciate this link.

I did a "repair" of your post; check it out. Is this what you meant?
