Welcome Mike!
When Mike volunteered to moderate this new Forum, I jokingly asked him if his wife knows about his insatiable appetite for self abuse! Forums are lots of work and require considerable time. Moderators who do lots of research and post interesting comments and questions generate the activity. We have a fantastic membership, but it is the moderator who keeps things interesting and informative.
The grappling arts are real hot and seem to be growing much faster than any other of the martial arts. Mike is highly skilled in Uechi-ryu and has impressive credentials in the grappling arts:
Mike has been training in Nihon Jujitsu for 15 years. He had the priviledge of training right from the founder (Shiyuza Sato Sensei). Nihon Jujitsu is a system that is not that big around the world, but many people know who Sato sensei is.
Good luck Mike. Knowing you, I've already placed your forum in the "Most Active" category.
Best,
George

Welcome Mike!
Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. I hope we can keep the conversation lively and interesting. There are many people out there with experiences that could add much to this topic of Jujitsu, the mother of all Japanese martial arts. I hope you all come out of the woodwork and join in. I'd hate to have to come in after you :-)

Welcome Mike!
A belated Congratulations to you Sensei Murphy on your new Forum.
I will be asking many groundfighting questions, and will seek some drills with uechi roots to perfect.

Welcome Mike!
Mike,
My belated congratulations and well wishes for taking this on!
Look forward to the discussions, but... more to training with you again when I can.
My ukemi continues to degenerate.
