Hello Lori-san,
It's been a while! Thanks for this post. How incredibly fortunate you were. Keep your head down! Great advise! I wonder why so many lose sight of this concept? It seems to me that our egos present us with a threat greater than anything that comes from without!
Peace,
Melanie

Hello all!
George-Sensei,

Lori-san,
You articulated my views on this subject better than I could have. No doubt I too would be viewed as a an enemy by extremist feminist groups.-Good! If you ask me, such ...

Female reproductive organs and conditioning
Hello All
Thanks for all your responses! Glasheen-sensei: Your advise to excersize caution is well taken! I think conditioning is one of the most intricate of our Uechi practices. Finding the right balance is both crutial and challenging for men and women.

Female reproductive organs and conditioning
Hello Glasheen-sensei,
I brought this question up on Lori San's Forum and it was suggested that I ask you about it. Is there any possibility that long term stomach conditioning could adversly effect female reproductive organs?
Any ideas?
thanks,
Melanie

"Psychological Warfare"
Hello everyone!
As a relatively new "Round Table" reader I would like to say that the threads I read cause me to explore the psychological side of my Uechi development. For that I thank you all.
While working out with a newcommer to our dojo who had not studied for three years he expressed some ...

Sometimes the simplest statements are the most profound. What a wonderful way to start a class. My beginner instructor told us that we should be like an empty cup before class so that the teacher can fill it with knowledge. Your thoughts are like a gentle reminder from my first sensei ...

Dear Cecil,
It is important to find a balance. I think perhaps the thrust of this particular thread deals with how to successfully attain this balance. For example how can we attain balance if we are unaware of an aspect of our personality? If all we are aware of is yin how can we ever attain a ...

Dear Sensei Van Canna,
Thank you for your response. It certainly is a frightening thought to allow that you have the same "sinister" potential as your potential violator. I wonder what makes some people completely succumb to their dark side?
Nature or nurture? Or more likely a combination of both ...

I do agree. My proffessor did have a rather stilted view of the purpose of poetry. I suppose we all see what we want to see.

Hello all,

Hello Sensei Lori!
I once had a poetry teacher that said that poetry originated for the express purpose of wooing women. Pretty flattering thought isn't it. All that agony passion despair hate, reverence evoked by the "weaker" sex.
Take care,
Melanie
