Sigh...

Yea, we've had some real crap on the forums in the past. This was indeed a jewel. That's before the days where I finally decided to flush posts that went over the edge.

Mr. Morris is Mr. Morris. I choose not to go there right now. It bores me.

Igor on the other hand... Way back around 1980, I put Igor and someone from New York (Kenny Elter) up in my Charlottesville apartment for a week. We fed them, entertained them with college parties, and brought them to work out with other Uechi folk such as Marty Dow and Bob Galeone. And for all of some individuals trying to make Igor out to be some sparring God, all I can say is - NOT! I refereed a match between Marty and Igor, and Marty spent a good deal of the match literally dusting the floor with him. I've never seen Marty spar so spectacularly, and thrash someone so soundly. There was something about Igor's style that brought the Kadena dojo killer attitude out of Marty. So... All of Igor's bravado IMO was the rantings of nothing more than a pretty good karateka and not a lot more. Yugoslavia - or what's left of it - has a lot to be thanful for. But Igor has David Finkelstein and others on this side of the pond to thank for taking a wet-behind-the-ears boy and helping to turn him into a man. And this is the thanks we get?

This was one of many "bad memory" threads that I truly hope Igor has grown past. As a matter of fact, it's worth mentioning that when I visited Germany, someone approached me with a case of beer - courtesy of Igor. I guess we can say that bygones should be bygones.

And I do miss JD and that special caustic brand of humor, but he has other dragons to slay. I wish him well. Say hi to him for me, Tony.

I liked Igor at first, he was blunt, to the point, and told it like it is...whats not to like about that? but then he made fun of some Bankai Applications I was dreaming up, which where probably retarded but I didn't know that back then and said that if I where in his dojo, he'd grab me by the ear, drag me into the corner and show me some real Uechi Ryu.

An A-hole smells the same by any other name.

I think Igor has grown up a bit. We've all had our bad times.

I wouldn't mind him coming back. He actually wrote some cool stuff.

Hey Bronze:

I agree. It was just hard to wade through the "Trans/English" to get to the underlying points.

Igor.

In a past post. You answered a posting from Allan M.

You addressed your answer to Mr. Moulton. Please know that Allan Moulton "DIED", last year from a heart attack.

Who ever Allan M happens to be. He is "NOT" Allan Moulton.

Take care.

Jay

Not to worry... This is an old, old, old thread that Tony dug up. Check out the dates.

Igor probably is a very different man these days. Everyone evolves.

Uechi-ryu Principles of Conduct!

Remain courteous at all times.

Keep in mind that truth is relative, depending on perspective.

Choose words carefully.

Hmmmmm...

It makes you wonder...

It`s a good lesson not to get cuaght up in our own hype though .

No matter how good theres always someone out there that`ll have your number .

something you havent seen , or an attitude/timing your not comfortable with .

or worse yet a completely different tool box and ability to use it .

Hey igor, WHY do you HAVE to suddenly PUT these wierd and abrupt CAPITALS around all your POSTS. I mean, come one! My DAD does not have THE best grammer IN terms OF writing letters and MESSAGES. But, i have never SEEN him do anything LIKE this.

EDIT: Anyway, ARE you BOSNIAN or are you SERBIAN? And, what seems TO be the MAJOR fad in THOSE areas in terms OF martial ARTS!

:P Sorry, couldnt help it with the capitals. THough, my question is sincere.

Take out your map of Europe and you'll see that Slovenia is neither Bosnia nor Serbia  .

Folks

This is an old, old, old thread. And this isn't even the worst of it. It got very bad.

Way back in about 1980 when Igor visited the UVa dojo, he left me with a flag of Yugoslavia, and I still have an old address book with his address in Kranj, Yugoslavia. Talk about dating our time together... 8O Then this strange series of threads happened about a dozen years later, back when there was just one forum (this one) and the Internet was much more of a Wild West flavor. Everyone behaved rather badly. We had our own sons of bitches to get in the face of people who behaved badly.

People grow. The Internet as a medium for communication has evolved. People who haven't gotten along in the past on various forums now do.

And it's worth mentioning that Igor doesn't speak the best English. He does however speak better English than I do Slovenian. :P Now mix that up with a warped perception of the Internet and how people "typically" communicate. Oye!!!

I think it's useful to look back on these threads to see what we all did wrong and how crazy it was. But I'm not holding this past behavior against Igor. He's still a brother, until he gives us a reason to treat him otherwise.

There are however a few SOBs who have the "permanent ban."
