i havent once used a nukite ever in class.

Hmmm then why do them in kata? Nukite is very prevalent in the system, occuring in each of the big three. Maybe you should ask Rick about them. Bet you he's got a few applications for you.

Never thought about it before but I guess I use ippon nukite every time I form the shoken in someones body. Same target as Bill advocated earlier but I enter with finger tip and then lever the shoken into the body by pulling on the top bone, really helps to sink the shoken in. I'll show you next time I visit WKS.

I always looked at it as shearing, but this is based off of sanchin thrust. I only just started learning siesan, so i guess i never really bothered asking much about the nukite as much as other stuff.
I guess now is the time to start asking questions.
