All,

I was just joking when I said Leprechauns! Anthony killed me with "ninjas" and i tried to add to the merriment. Guess it didn't work. Image

I probably used the term 'lurker' first. Picked it up from past cyber chatter. Lets officially call people who wish to read posts without participating:

Visitors!

Anyone caught using the term "lurker" again will be forced to read the unauthorized biography of J.D.!

My take on this is that yes, lurker originated on usenet to indicate people that only read and do not cotnribute. And I do believe there was a slight negative connotation to it, but maybe that's not the case here.

It makes sense to want everyone to contribute, but when you're discussing intricate details of how a kata works, I for one, as a kyukyu, am not about to go telling dan ranks how the kata should really be performed.

Oh yeah, and what exactly do the terms guppy, minnor and small-fry mean? I had been assuming they all meant kyu ranks, but earlier posts in this thread seem to indicate otherwise.
