As most probably know by now, Former-president Ronald Reagan died this weekend.

Agree or disagree with the man's politics, but at least he had class. He expressed himself well and was not afraid to do so. He was no one's lap dog and he had a strong moral compass. How great Bill Clinton would have been with that characteristic! And how glaring is our current president's lack of these characteristics when viewing the retrospectives all over the air right now.

I was a child during the Reagan years so It's hard for me to gauge his presidency against more recent ones. I do agree that it appears that he had a strong moral compass. It seems that Kerry's compass is guided by whatever magnet is around it.. and Bush has a compass but doesn't know how to read a map. :?

I also agree about Bill Clinton. In spite of Lewinsky-gate people love/loved the man. He could have been remembered as one of the great ones.

“Whatever else history may say about me when I’m gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears; to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty’s lamp guiding your steps and opportunity’s arm steadying your way.”
Ronald W. Reagan
