Two comments:
First, while I have no douobt that this man is a predator, assuming he's 63 and has been actively molesting since he was 13, or 50 years, over 36,000 victims means that he molested 2 NEW children every day of his adult life. I realize he's worked a lot of different places, but were there even that many children within his grasp at these locations? I doubt his tally.
Second, I'm more frightened of such a catastrophic systems failure than I am of the one story. How many warning signs must have been ignored?? Let's just hope that no one would be sending their children to sleepovers at Neverland, even if Jackson began offering them again. Kind of relates to the story about failure to act in Bill's forum.

I don't believe they meant 36,000 victims per se, but 36,000 entries in his journal. The news report I saw this weekend said some were just entries about children he was "observing". Still very disturbing. Even if only 10% of these entries turn out to be molestations, that is still a lot of children and a lot of clueless adults. Thank goodness some parent had the sense of mind to say, "what do you mean this strange man bought you ice cream?" Give that mother a medal.
