WinterFest Dates

Post by gmattson »

Its official... Just got off the phone with Roy Bedard. The Florida gang will be hosting one hell of a WinterFest from February 14-16, 2003 in the West Palm Beach area.

Roy and his team are trying to secure a very famous facility for the camp and will be confirming this within a week.

Meanwhile, please make plans to join us all in Florida during the President's day holiday. I've heard that Roy has secured a stellar list of seniors from many styles to help out. His goal is to make WinterFest as popular as the New England SummerFest.

Just took a look at the Summerfest pictures...noticed that all were black belts.
Are these camps/fests limited to Shodan-or-above only?
I understood all ranks were invited but didn't actually see any other than BB+.
Do any lower ranks attend? NM

I've been to summer camp two years running . . . both times while under green belt . . . they were both great learning experiences and extremely fun. I've never been to a WinterFest , but if they're anything like SummerFest it's well worth it!

Mattson Sensi,

Do you have an informal or even a formal list of who will be attending? and teaching?
And what the schedule will be like?

Any recommendations for a mid level Kyu student who has not been to any of your festivals yet?

I'm planning on attending, and one other student from our dojo is planning on coming down with me. Depending on the schedule, I'm planning on taking a few extra (well needed) days down in Florida

Roy Bedard should have more information soon about the schedule of events. We have selected February 14, 15 and 16th, 2003 for the dates. Most of the instructors will be coming from Florida, but a few of us New Englanders will be there, helping out any way we can.

Watch the WinterFest website for updates.

It is my understanding that WinterFest will be based on the SummerFest model. Open to all!
