Wow... Never expected this. I'm just an old out-of-shape (now you know for sure) beat-up cat.

But one that has connected with a
whole litter of siblings whether they like it or not!
Dana. We didn't get to talk too much and I wasn't able to make it back on Sunday because, ummmm... reasons beyond my control after Saturday night. I'm away for a few days, but send me e-mail! You can use the e-mail link at the header of this forum (that's work) or you can send it to home:
panther-san@freedom.net (original, huh?

) or both.
OK...
Anyone that wants to write me can, but if you think my posts are lengthy, well...
Hope to see everyone soon.
Stay safe.
Be good to each other...
and remember,
Freedom is not free.

The same goes for me Panther. It was great to meet you in person.
It was a pleasure to have you in my seminar. Even though you said you only know the goju-ryu seisan, you still could have practiced it with us. I was not trying to perfect kata movements.
Although I did not invent the TC principle, I was trying to "share" the method that has become an integral part of my training for 17 months now.
I was pleased that Van Sensei allowed me to teach it to the campers that do not have the opportunity that most of the Massachusetts Uechi-ryu students have. I wanted them to see the method for themselves. I was very pleased when Van said to me that I "do it well". I only hope that I gave you and the other wonderful people who attended my classes a proper introduction to the TC.
Before the class that you attended, I was teaching Practical Applications of Kata Movements. I was taking various movements and demonstrating how to use them in self defense situations. A lot of these defenses were born out of the TC principle. Devistating counterattacks to eliminate the threat of further multiple attacks.
I would also like to thank Dana, who attended one of my classes with her friend (Kathy?).
She has a very powerful kata and she picked up the small TC lesson that I gave very well. I only touched on a few TC movements before I did that last class. I was very surprised and immensly pleased that I had women in all of my classes. I had gone 16 months of training students at the BUKA with not one women present. (BTW...I now have 3 young women in my adult class as another 16 year old just signed up last night)
I had the pleasure of introducing TC to Maria Sofutasio. I had heard of the wonderful stories of her fighting skills in Greece and her involment with the Greek National Team. Not to mention the knockout I witnesed at the New England Open Uechi-ryu Championships. If she learns the TC principle as completely as I have, I am sure that she will be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come. I pity the fools that try to take advantage of her and these other Uechi-ryu women practitioners.
Please drop in to work out with us at the BUKA anytime that you are in the area.

Len,
Again, it was a pleasure working with you. Heather and I had a blast. I plan to share the chest-hitting stop for seisan bunkai tonight in class.
cheers,
Dana
