Tournament Kata

Hello All:

Happy Holidays…

The question came up at the seminar the other day , as to which kata’s a
Competitor can perform in an IUKF sanctioned Uechi-Ryu tournament.
As of this point In time, here is the official rule.

Note: The rule is under reevaluation at this time… That means it may or may not change.

Rule:
Novice – (1 to 12 Months training) – Kata – Sanchin or Kanshiwa

Intermediate – ( 13 to 24 Months training) – Kata – Kanshiwa or Kanshu

Advanced – ( 25 Months or greater) – Kata – Seichin or Seisan

Junior Black belt – all ages – Kata – Seisan or above
