Again I ask: How far?

This is Dave Young's Forum.
Can you really bridge the gap between reality and training? Between traditional karate and real world encounters? Absolutely, we will address in this forum why this transition is necessary and critical for survival, and provide suggestions on how to do this correctly. So come in and feel welcomed, but leave your egos at the door!

As far as we let them... remember in 1984 it was the constant threats and duties of wartime that kept the people infatuated with Big Brother. So much emphasis on following orders, doing what you're told, supporting the administration in any measure necessary to defeat terrorism these days. Eventually we may lose enough of the freedoms we're trying to protect that we'll end up like that village in 'nam that they had to destroy to save.

We folks have the freedom of speech,

But in these times of war (undeclared as far as I can tell) we must watch what we say......(leading me to wonder if we really have any such freedom)......

Perhaps it should be....freedom of speech to say what the govt and large corporate media conglomerates can agree to.....

Peace,

Sounds like freedom of speech in China. There one had the freedom to support state ideas, but not to oppose them (paraphrasing a quote--can't find the book at the moment, but it was a state spokesperson). If that's what we come to fighting for our culture, well, there ain't nothing left to fight for.
